Feature #14318

Speedup `Proc#call` to mimic `yield`

Added by ko1 (Koichi Sasada) almost 7 years ago. Updated almost 7 years ago.

Status:
Closed
Target version:
[ruby-core:84650]

Description

We don't need to keep and restore$SAFE for Proc#call, we can replace the Proc#call process with yield process.

The following patch acheves this replacement.

Speedup Proc#call [Feature #14318]

  • vm_insnhelper.c (vm_call_opt_call): do same process of yield instead of
    invoking Proc.

  • vm_insnhelper.c (vm_invoke_block): invoke given block handler instead of
using a block handler in the current frame.
Also do not check blcok handler here (caller should check it).

  • insns.def (invokeblock): catch up this fix.
