Continuing my focus on getting RSS documented, I believe that large amounts of it should be nodoc'd. The vast majority of the code is actually internal implementation detail; the big stuff is the builder DSL, which isn't really served by API-level documentation.

The attached patch nodocs everything that's in the top-level files, those being the ones for the specific formats. If it's agreed that most of the rest should be nodoc'd as well, I can do that in another patch, or if we do want api-level docs for all of this, I can work on actually writing those.
Ruby master - Bug #8821 (Closed): Add documentation for Time#w3cdtfhttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/88212013-08-27T06:15:10Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

These monkey-patches on Time weren't documented inside of RSS. Now they are.
Ruby master - Bug #8812 (Closed): RSS: document more constantshttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/88122013-08-23T05:26:05Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

As part of my continued efforts to document RSS, here is the documentation for several of the constants relating to namespaces.
Ruby master - Bug #8800 (Closed): Nodoc legacy constanthttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/88002013-08-18T06:27:27Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

In lib/rss/xmparser.rb, there's a constant that's legacy only, so I nodoc'd it.

I wasn't 100% sure that this was the right decision, so I'm submitting this change on its own.
Ruby master - Bug #8799 (Closed): Nodoc legacy constanthttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/87992013-08-18T06:25:10Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

I wasn't 100% sure that this was the right decision, so I'm submitting this change on its own.
Ruby master - Bug #8798 (Closed): Document all constants in lib/rss/rss.rbhttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/87982013-08-18T06:23:33Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

There were a number of errors and other constants that weren't documented, so I documented them. :)
Ruby master - Bug #8755 (Closed): 'Document' RSS::Trackbackhttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/87552013-08-09T00:39:04Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

This file is entirely internal, so just a top-level comment and some :nodoc:.
Ruby master - Bug #8754 (Closed): Stop checking for old REXML versionshttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/87542013-08-08T23:48:17Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

Given that Ruby 2.0 ships with REXML 3.1.7.3, and both REXML and RSS are in the standard library, there should be no way to have an REXML < 2.5.
Ruby master - Bug #8745 (Closed): Add documentation for RSS::Utilshttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/87452013-08-07T03:31:12Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

This adds both top-level as well as method-level documentation for RSS::Utils.
Ruby master - Bug #8740 (Closed): Documentation for RSS 1.0 and 2.0https://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/87402013-08-05T23:55:36Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

As well as a tiny fix for atom.
Ruby master - Bug #8732 (Closed): Docs for rss/0.9.rbhttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/87322013-08-05T03:52:50Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

I wrote some top-level documentation for the 0.9 support of RSS.
Ruby master - Feature #8258 (Feedback): Dir#escape_globhttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/82582013-04-12T10:05:22Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

This is inspired by https://github.com/rails/rails/issues/6010.

Basically, if you do a Dir.glob in a directory whose name contains a glob character, things break. It would be nice to have a method which would escape the input so that we can Dir.glob inside of those directories.
Ruby master - Bug #7099 (Closed): Fixing some grammar in thread.c docshttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/70992012-10-02T08:28:47Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

Just some small grammar fixes, nothing huge.
Ruby master - Bug #4730 (Closed): Fixing Whitepsacehttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/47302011-05-19T00:34:12Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

Here it is, as promised. I ran some shell commands to strip trailing whitespace, and then tabs to spaces. I then went through the files by hand and fixed some weird indentation that this caused due to inconsistencies. make test says everything's all good.

Patch attached.
Ruby master - Bug #4663 (Closed): Add initial documentation for RSShttps://redmine.ruby-lang.org/issues/46632011-05-10T14:03:18Zsteveklabnik (Steve Klabnik)steve@steveklabnik.com

As part of the Ruby 1.9.3 documentation challenge[1], here's my first shot at adding some documentation to the RSS portion of the standard library. I've just added an overview with two examples, but I plan on fleshing out the rest of RSS, too. I wanted to make sure that I'm doing it right with something small before I put in a bunch of time on a bigger patch.

Patch included.
